Brainy Essentials

If you are to think of it, we are living and fighting in a battle called "war of the minds." We are fighting against each other with the use of our thoughts. It has apparently been happening already way back the first man to ever think. That's how the battle is going. So you better have a better mindset then.

Always be careful in every product of your mind. Even you, will be fighting against yourself some time in your life. You wage war against yourself and it could happen to you for many times, unless you already have conquered your own being. As Lao Tzu once said, "You are strong if you conquer others; you are mighty if you conquer self."

Our brain happens to be our own sole weapon in the battle. That's why we should always take care of our brain—the healthy way. How? Simply eat healthy foods rich in protein and avoid additives, caffeine, sugar, and preservatives. Avoid junk foods too—they really are junk! Drink much water periodically. Eight to ten glasses of water a day is essential. Not too less and not too much. For with less water, the effects could be detrimental. Remember that our body is made up of approximately 65% water. While too much of it can be fatal too. Either way, both can damage our brain in functioning right.

Always take a good rest. Rest even if you cannot sleep. By just lying down and staying calm and relaxed, but well-comforted is already considered as good rest. Bear in mind that even when you are sleeping, your brain still does go on processing thoughts; it's just that it's processing less at the time being. So with just this kind of rest, you are already doing a good favor to yourself.

Furthermore, you should also engage in some sports or in other brain-enhancing activities. Studies show that a stagnant brain without doing these types of activities are shrinking. As the line goes, "All work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy." Certainly! If you really want to be good in terms of your intellectual capacity then you have to start embracing one activity today, if ever you haven't had any.

So far, I think I'm fully committed to all of these. That is just according to my own judgment. But why can't I get that mindset I so wanted? Maybe I'm only doing it damn close. As you can see, those things are so easy to make a habit.

Why not make a habit that will make you the best you can ever be?
